Local540 News: St. Patrick’s Day edition

Wednesday is St. Patrick’s Day, and as a result, almost everyone is doing something special to celebrate quite possibly the best holiday ever.

Seriously. What a great idea. No stress, no gifts to give, just an excuse to drink irish whiskey and Guinness and hang out with your friends at your favorite pub. Good idea, Irish people.

Arts & Entertainment – Live Music

Mickey Finn’s starts celebrating St. Patty’s Day on Tuesday with a St. Patty’s Day Eve celebration featuring David Malm, aka Patty O’Grill. Also, they open at 11am on St. Patty’s Day.

Smoke and Barrel Tavern has 25% off whiskey, $1 off Guiness all day, and Cletus Got Shot for free on St. Patty’s Day Wednesday.

Buster Belly’s is offering $1.50 off all drinks for St. Patty’s Day on Wednesday.

There’s a St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl on Dickson St. Wednesday night. Zooloo’s will extend their happy hour specials until 10 p.m., and offer $3 Absolute, Bacardi, Crown, Cuervo and Tanqueray.

Greenhouse Grill doesn’t have to get dressed up for St. Patty’s Day. They’re always green. This week, Dave Malm is playing on Wednesday. Still on the Hill and 3 Penny Acre play Friday night.

Miller Williams reads poetry at the Walton Arts Center on Thursday to the music of the Walter Savage Trio. Also, wanna win a broadway package for the 2010/11 season? Check out the WAC’s South Pacific blogging contest.

Ella’s has live jazz every Friday and Saturday with Lorrie Morris and William Reyes this week.

The Seedling Film Association will host a St. Patty’s Day party at the UARK Ballroom on Wednesday, w/ a costume contest and a montage of clips from the cult classic horror film Leprechaun!

21st Amendment has Barret Baber Thursday night and Randall Shreve on Sunday with $2 domestic bottles and $5 martins. No cover!

The Fayetteville Clarion has Seafood & Jazz Friday Nights at Park Place Grill featuring local Alex Lewis on guitar, and classical guitarist Willaim Reyes for Sunday brunch.
