Justin Tennant, Mark Kinion announce candidacy for City Council

Skip Descant reported on Friday that Justin Tennant has announced his candidacy to run for the Fayetteville City Council Ward 3, Position 1 seat, held by Robert Rhoads.

Tennant’s website, tennantforcouncil.com, provides confirmation. On the site, Justin notes he is a member of the Telecommunications Board and is chair of the Internet/Technology Subcommittee.

Tennant has two children and is married to Katie Clark Tennant, daughter of Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce President Steve Clark.

Also, it looks like Mark Kinion will be running for the Ward 2, Position 1 seat held by Kyle Cook.

“Yes, I do intend to run for City Council Ward 2 Position 1 in 2010,” reads a wall post on Kinion’s old campaign Facebook group.

Kinion ran for Ward 2, Position 2 in 2008 but was narrowly defeated by Matthew Petty.

Other council seats up for grabs this November are Ward 1, Position 1 held by Adella Gray and Ward 4, Position 1 held by Shirley Lucas.
