Reminder: Town hall meeting Monday night

  • By Todd Gill · Monday, Mar 29, 2010

Don’t forget about tonight’s town hall meeting.

Mayor Lioneld Jordan is holding the first town hall meeting of the year at 7 p.m. tonight, March 29 inside Woodland Junior High School at 1 East Poplar Street.

Everyone is encouraged to show up for an opportunity to learn more about our local government scene and ask questions about programs and policies of city government.

Mayor Jordan will be joined by several city department heads, including City Finance Director Paul Becker who will give updates on the economic forecast, City Engineer Chris Brown, who will discuss an update on the Road Bond Projects, and Sharon Crosson, who will provide an overview of the Parking Proposals for the Cultural & Entertainment Dickson Street Area.

Also set to speak are Parks and Recreation Director Connie Edmonston, who will discuss upcoming Park Programs, Development Services Director Jeremy Pate, who will discuss upcoming Form Based Code such as new zoning districts and building design standards, and Police Chief Greg Tabor and Fire Chief David Dayringer, who will be available for questions and answers related to public safety.

The last 30 minutes of the meeting will be devoted to questions from the audience. Not trivia questions. Just regular ones.
