Sound Tribe Sector 9 returning to Northwest Arkansas

  • Ryan Jordal · Wednesday, Mar 31, 2010

Electronica/funk group Sound Tribe Sector 9, better known to fans as “STS9,” are returning to the area on Thursday, September 2, to play at the Arkansas Music Pavilion. STS9 released their most recent album, Ad Explorata, in November 2009. For those of you unfamiliar, STS9 are primarily known for their blending of real instruments with electronics. The result is a hip-hop groove filled with ambient sounds and a funk undertone.

Earlier in the year, STS9 sold out George’s Majestic Lounge in record time. Those who weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to the March 3 show were left to online scalpers, counterfeiters, and the Flyer’s own giveaway! George’s wasn’t STS9’s first time playing the Natural State, though. The band played two sets at last year’s Wakarusa and are on the bill to play again this year.

Don’t sleep on buying these tickets! Although it’s a bigger venue, there’s still a good chance this one will sell out.

Tickets are available now at the band’s site: www.sts9.com
More tickets go on sale April 17 at the AMP’s site: www.arkansasmusicpavilion.com
