Monday To-do: April 5

If you missed out on opening day at the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on Saturday, I feel for you.

For starters, it was one of the busiest opening days of the market in a long time. The weather probably played a big part in making it so popular but there were plenty of vendors, most of your friends, some jugglers, musicians on each corner and even a breakdancing seminar held by some kid who will one day rule the world.

Fortunately for you, we had our cameras rolling when the breakdancing started up. If you haven’t seen this yet, swallow your coffee before you watch the last few seconds.

So what’s happening tonight?

Smoke & Barrel is hosting a poetry reading by UA alum Chris Pappas. Starting at 7 p.m. Pappas will perform the first three episodes from his epic poem, First Book, The Legend of Eros in Eleven Episodes. His book will be on sale during the reading.

The Fayetteville Public Library‘s BookTalk @ Night series is reading “Push” by Sapphire tonight at 6:30 p.m. Fans of Sapphire’s work will be happy to know that the author is coming to town April 20 to speak in the library. More on that here.

Other than that, we’ve got Darren Ray at Pesto and an open mic night at The Perk on our calendar. Anybody got anything else?

The list:
