Wednesday To-do: April 14

  • By Todd Gill · Wednesday, Apr 14, 2010

With yesterday’s news that Memphis filmmaker Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan) will be directing a remake of the 1984 teen dance flick Footloose, it’s with great coincidence to point out tonight’s street dance showcase at FIX featuring none other than Memphis’ own G nerd and Dr. Rico among many others. (Details here)

Instead of getting into this with words, I’ll let you drop your own jaw and point you to the video at the bottom of this post.

There’s no cover at FIX tonight but you gotta be at least 21 to get in. For those of you who are underage, maybe you can beg the guys at FIX to open the windows so you can watch from the sidewalk.

So what else is happening tonight?

George’s has Pnuma Trio and Messy Jiverson while just up the street at Rogue, Memphis Pencils and The European Sons will play.

Smoke & Barrel has Scott Leeper, Greenhouse Grille has Candy Lee & The Sweets, and if you were fortunate enough to get a ticket before they sold out, you don’t need us to remind you that Robin & Linda Williams are at GoodFolk.

The list with more:

Wednesday, April 14, 2010
Nightbird Books: David Smith Story Time and Book Signing
Greenhouse Grille: Candy Lee and the Sweets
JJ’s Grill n Chill: Mo Brothers
Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall: UA Trumpet Ensemble Recital
