Pagnozzi Charities hosts sixth annual Grand Slam Celebration May 1

Pagnozzi Charities hosts several events throughout the year to support its Youth Scholarship Program, with a mission of opening the door to athletic experiences for disadvantaged youth.

On Saturday, they’ll host one of their biggest fundraisers of the year with the sixth-annual Grand Slam Celebration at the home of former St. Louis Cardinals catcher Tom Pagnozzi and his wife Colleen.

The party features poolside casino style gaming, live music, drinks, dancing, and a silent auction. Plus, all of the proceeds from the event go to helping underprivileged youth play sports in Northwest Arkansas.

“This event continues to grow each year,” said Pagnozzi Charities Executive Director Sarah Eldridge. “Because of the tremendous support we receive, we are able to give kids more than just the chance to play sports, but the opportunity to learn valuable life lessons that they otherwise may not have achieved.”

To date in 2010, Pagnozzi Charities has helped more than 400 underprivileged youth play sports. In 2009, Pagnozzi Charities granted 1,392 sports scholarships for children which helped pay for equipment purchases, registration and program fees, instructional classes and game tickets to Razorback and Naturals events.

Tickets are $75 each and may be purchased by calling 479-443-2550, or by visiting pagnozzicharities.org. All proceeds will benefit the Pagnozzi Youth Sports Scholarship Fund.
