Tuesday To-do: June 1

Are you a Mac or a PC? I ask because the end of May was a particularly crummy month for PC operating system developer Microsoft and it is looking like the days of PC domination are starting to come to an end.

Last Wednesday, it was announced that for the first time ever, Apple had passed Microsoft to become the world’s most valuable technology company. Then yesterday, news surfaced that Google has begun phasing out the using of Windows as part of a “security effort.”

Finally, Apple announced that it had sold two million iPads in less than 60 days. That’s not too shabby considering it took over two years for Apple to sell two million iPods, and four months to sell that many iPhones. And you know what flops those things were.

Youch.

If you’re a die-hard PC fan, you might need a drink tonight. Or at least something to ease your mind.

How about a nice juicy steak at Herman’s to the sounds of Effron White? Or Chase Missy at First Tuesday on Mount Sequoyah? Jazz at Scarpino’s?

Here’s all we’ve got:

Tuesday, June 1, 2010
