B.B. King coming to town in September

  • By Dustin Bartholomew · Monday, Jun 21, 2010

Over the last few weeks, some of you might have heard the rumblings that BB King is headed back to Fayetteville this fall.

Today, Walton Arts Center officials announced that the legendary bluesman will indeed be making a return trip to town on September 23.

There’s zero chance you don’t know who BB King is, but here are some of his achievements, in case you have been living in a bunker for the last 60-70 years.

He has released over 50 albums. He’s won 15 Grammy’s. He was named the #3 guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone in 2003.

He was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. He received NARAS’ Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 1987, and has received honorary doctorates from at least 6 universities.

He is 84 years old, and he still plays about 250 dates a year around the country. Also, Chuck Norris wears pajamas with his picture on them.

Tickets go on sale on July 14, and will cost between $58 and $100.
