Thursday To-do: July 1

Things not to forget today – this first day of July 2010.

1. It’s the 1st and it’s Thursday. That means it’s First Thursday on the square.
2. It’s the first day of the first ever Bikes, Babes & Bling bike rally.
3. It’s the first of 31 days of using ‘ly’ instead of ‘ne’ (keep the ‘Ju’).

Besides all the hoopla on the square, there are things to do in Fayetteville after the sun sets. Some of them involve music, some of them involve adult beverages, and some of them involve both. Here’s the music.

Smoke & Barrel has a few local DJ’s including Aerosault.com founder Chaz Bizar. Merl and ZSL are also set to perform. Solid choice, there.

George’s hosts a Gulf Coast benefit with a half dozen bands and musicians on the bill. The show is part of a nationwide effort to raise more than $500,000 for the fishermen and wildlife affected by the recent oil spill.

Elsewhere, Charliehorse is at Powerhouse, Pope County Bootleggers are at Mojo’s, and the Joe Giles Band is at Jose’s.
