I had a conversation with a friend recently about a 90’s music night. The idea would be, we’d get together with some friends, dig out all the old CD’s from the stuff we listened to in high school (the good, the bad, and the ironic), and see which records we could still stand.

One of the bands that came up in our conversation is Marcy Playground, who’ll be at George’s Majestic Lounge for a show on August 10.

Marcy Playground is touring again in support of their fourth record, “Leaving Wonderland…In a Fit of Rage,” released in July of last year.

If you ask me, their brand of super catchy folky-pop music is pretty timeless. I still really like their first record, and I think they might be one of the standouts of our 90’s music night when it happens. I also think I’d still like Toad the Wet Sprocket.
