Abel Tomlinson to announce run for Arkansas House

Former congressional candidate Abel Tomlinson is planning a brief speech and press conference to announce his candidacy for the Arkansas House of Representatives District 92 seat.

According to a news release issued Wednesday, the announcement will take place at 1 p.m. this Saturday, July 24 in front of the Fayetteville Town Center.

“My adversary Greg Leding was the assumed winner of this race because no Republican challenger surfaced, but my entrance will change this assumption and provide more democracy to Fayetteville voters,” said Tomlinson. “I will be running not only to win, but to educate the public on an extremely important issue that many voters do not understand, and this will be the focus of my announcement speech.”

Today’s NWAOnline story seems to suggest that Tomlinson’s platform might have something to do with his contention that he has a right to use hallucinogenic mushrooms because of his religious beliefs.

Greg Leding defeated Bill Ramsey in May to secure the Democratic nomination for the District 92 seat. There is no Republican nominee.
