Ozark Slow Food hosts a tomato tasting July 24

They’re (mostly) red. They’re juicy. They’re delicious. They’re tomatoes, and if you like them, and want to learn more about growing/cooking your own, you should know that Ozark Slow Food is hosting a Tomato Tasting on Saturday, July 24 from 10 a.m.- noon at East Square Plaza.

More than 40 varieties of tomatoes will be available to try, former Bordino’s chef Chrissy Sanderson will give a presentation about how to pair unique varieties with other foods, master gardener Joyce Mendenhall and others will teach you how to grow them.

All you have to do is show up, and eat them.

Watching Lucy (members of Strange Heroes) will provide some tomato eating music, and $5 (or $2.50 for kids 5-12 years of age) gets you the music, the cooking/growing knowledge, and of course, the tomatoes.

Admission will be taken at the door, but space will be limited so plan to come early. For reservations, email [email protected] or call 479-799-7985.
