Town Hall meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 16

It’s town hall meeting time again.

Mayor Jordan announced on Tuesday that his seventh quarterly town hall meeting is set for at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 at Sequoyah United Methodist Church, located at 1910 N Old Wire Rd. in Fayetteville.

If you’ve never been to one of of these things, here’s how they typically go; those in attendance will hear from the mayor, and several department heads within city staff on city initiatives, finances, parks updates, road construction, and other issues.

At Monday’s meeting, finance director Paul Becker will give an update on city finances and sales tax collections, and city staff will be on hand to discuss Block Avenue rennovations, paid parking in the Dickson St. Entertainment District, and updates on various road construction projects in town.

Afterwards, there’s a 30-minute Q&A period for members of the public to ask questions and voice their concerns.

If you have questions, comments or concerns about paid parking, Block Street improvements, the recent Walton Arts Center proposal, or any other city issue, there’s really no substitute for showing up and telling the folks in charge what you think in person.
