Trail art kiosks to be unveiled Tuesday, Aug. 24

The children’s art kiosks that were approved to be installed along the city’s trail system have been installed and will receive a formal unveiling ceremony this week.

The ribbon cutting and press conference is set for Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. on Scull Creek Trail immediately west of Wilson Park on Prospect Street, where one of the two art kiosks are located.

The exhibits display art by children participating in the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club summer program. Some of the children will be in attendance Tuesday.

From the news release:

Incorporating art on the trails began as a vision of Mayor Lioneld Jordan, who began visiting with local artists last fall for ideas about the initiative. We hope you come to this event to celebrate another union of art and nature.

The kiosks were approved by the Fayetteville Arts Council in June, and are located on the Scull Creek trail, one in Gordon Long Park and one near Prospect Street, which is next to Wilson Park.
