September came quick this year. It’s also rolling by pretty fast. Can you believe we’re already into the second week?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining one bit. I love hoodie weather, Razorback game days and as of about five years ago, fantasy football.
If you dislike sports and prefer to keep it that way, I strongly suggest that you never accept an invitation to play fantasy football. It’s a gateway into a world you never thought you’d enter. It starts with a morning of reluctantly “researching” which players to draft and quickly spirals out of control. Before you know it, you’re playing in multiple leagues, you’re DVRing SportsCenter and eventually, you’re watching baseball. Baseball? Yes, baseball.
So yeah, September’s here and that means Wakarusa fans are only one month away from the Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival.
See what I mean? September came quick.
Today
Speaking of Wakarusa, one of this year’s Satellite Stage headliners, Two Fresh, is in town tonight at George’s Majestic Lounge. The hip-hop electro duo consists of twin brothers Sherwyn and Kendrick Nicholls. They’re accompanied live by drummer Colby Buckler. Click the link above for a sample from their 2009 release “Baker’s Dozen.” A live video is embedded below.
Sticking with the hip-hop theme, DJ Fishr Pryce is at FIX tonight alongside residents EQ & Shortfuze.
Both shows are 18+ and both are on Dickson Street. Find some place to park and then choose to walk East or West.
Other than that, there’s the Wii bowling league at Smoke & Barrel, and a few other live music options.
