The weekend is over and unfortunately, this week is not another short one. It’s time for Fayetteville to get back to work (or school) and back to doing what it does best: Arguing.
The latest button-pushing issue is the upcoming millage election.
On Sept. 21, you’ll be asked to approve a property tax increase to fund construction for the second half of the Fayetteville High School renovation project.
If approved, the 2.75-mill increase would equate to an extra $4.58 per month for a $100,000 home.
We’ve seen plenty of campaigning for this increase that’s looking to secure $31.5 million in soon-to-expire, zero-interest bonds, but not a lot of organized opposition. Just a few signs here and there. How long will that last?
We’ll have more on this later today if you’re interested.
