Banff Mountain Film Festival tour stops in Fayetteville Sept. 17

Do you guys remember that old country song? I think it was by Alabama, and goes something like, “Oh, play me some mountain movies.” That’s a great song.

I never realized it before, but I’m pretty sure that song is about the Banff Mountain Film Festival (I’m joking. Don’t freak out), the mobile-version of which is stopping in town on Friday.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival is an international film competition featuring movies on mountain subjects. That means climbing, mountain expeditions, remote cultures, and other mountain-related stuff. The festival began in 1976 and is held annually in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The touring version, made up of the best films submitted to the festival, will make a stop on Fayetteville at 6:30 on Friday, Sept. 17 at the University of Arkansas Global Campus.

Tickets are available at the event website for $14, or you can get them the day of the show for $16 each. Tickets purchased at the door are cash only.
