Shwayze coming to UA Greek Theater Sept. 27

There are certain perks that come along with living in a college town, and one of them is that a couple times a year, the university brings in a national act for a free concert. For free.

Shwayze is made up of rapper Aaron “Shwayze” Smith and former Whitestarr frontman Cisco Adler. The two began collaborating in 2008, and two singles from Shwayze’s self titled debut made their way into the Billboard Top 100.

Their early success on the charts let to a spot on the Warped Tour, and a short-lived MTV reality series entitled “Buzzin,” named after the duo’s first single.

Recently, they’ve been on the road in support of their latest album “Let It Beat,” released in 2009 on Suretone/Geffen records.

According to a UA release, “doors” (there are no doors on the Greek Theater) open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m. with DJ Jason Smith (of Shwayze), followed by Gilbere Forte. Shwayze will headline at around 10 p.m.
