Ozark Natural Foods Fall Festival set for Sept. 26

What do you get when you combine free food, free drinks, free music, and free games for the kids including an appearance by “Ronnie Raccoon?”

Give up? It’s Ozark Natural Foods’ Fall Festival, scheduled for 1- 4 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 26 at Gulley Park.

ONF’s Alli Griffin said that the annual festival began as a celebration of October being national Co-op Month, and has evolved quite a bit over the years. Last year, it was held in the parking lot of the co-op before being moved to Gulley Park for the first time this year.

“We’re just trying to take advantage of the cooler weather, and make it a fun community event with free good music,” Griffin said.

3 Penny Acre, Matt & Gus Smith, and Guta will provide the tunes, ONF will provide the free lunch from their deli, and mother nature will provide temperatures (forecasted) in the 70’s.

Free massages will also be available from Blue Cliff College, free samples will be available from Shaggy’s Salsa, Mountain Bird Coffee, and Andy’s Frozen Custard. There will even be free frisbees.

Several of the farmers that provide produce to the co-op will also be on hand to answer questions about their products. If you ask, some of them will probably high five you, and I suppose if you wanted, you could get an autograph from a couple of them as well. Farmers rule.
