Poll: Do you know what ward you live in?

  • By Todd Gill · Monday, Oct 4, 2010

With today being the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 election, we thought it might be interesting to revisit and extend last week’s poll question which was “What Ward do you live in?”

According to the poll results so far, 39% of you either don’t know which ward you live in or don’t even know what a ward is.

If you fall into that category, it’s OK. Not knowing your ward is nothing to be ashamed of. I mean, there aren’t any signs posted around town to help you out.

You should, however, consider using the handy map we made to find out which ward you’re in. It’s useful information, particularly when trying to figure out who you’re going to vote for in the City Council elections. After all, you can only vote for whoever’s running in your ward.

For those of you who already answered, and do know your ward, it appears as though most of you are in Ward 2. Second place currently goes to Ward 4 which is nice because that’s the only other ward with a contested City Council seat this year.

Ward 2 residents will choose between Adam Fire Cat and Mark Kinion. The Ward 4 seat will go to either Rhonda Adams or Jeff Dickey.

For those of you in Ward 1, you’re going to have at least another four years with Adella Gray in the Position 1 seat as nobody filed to run against her. In Ward 3, you’re going to have Justin Tennant on board since Kyle Cook Robert Rhoads is leaving and nobody filed to run against Justin.

If you haven’t yet voted, go ahead and do so if you don’t mind. We’re curious people here, y’know?
