Wednesday To-do: Oct. 6

Unless it’s all a big sham, Snoop Dogg will be back in Fayetteville in a few weeks. You did see the news, right?

The concert promoter says it’s Monday, Oct. 25, but a Facebook invite that was started last night indicates it’ll be Sunday the 24th.

We’ll see if some more information surfaces sometime today.

Until then, brace yourself for a major Facebook announcement. So what will they introduce? The rumors range from a monumental Facebook phone to just a simple revamp of the way events are handled. Of course, there’s a lot of speculation in between, too.

What’s your guess? Site redesign? Video chat? World domination?

Today

Today’s calendar is as light as we’ve seen it for a Wednesday. It’s surprising, but fitting since yesterday was the busiest Tuesday in a long time.

Oklahoma City’s red dirt/blues/folk sweetheart Carter Sampson is in town tonight at Greenhouse Grille. There’s plenty of quotes describing Sampson on her website. My personal favorite comes from Ryan Adams last year. “Awesome singer, awesome songwriter. Highly f@#*ing recommended.”

If that’s not your thing, you could check out D*FRESH at FIX (rescheduled from last week) or provide the entertainment yourself at the Cease & Desist Judged Open Mic at Smoke & Barrel.

The list

Greenhouse Grille: Carter Sampson
Mojo’s: Jazz jam
JJ’s Grill n Chill: Miller & Buford
Smoke & Barrel Tavern: The Cease & Desist Judged Open Mic
Fix Ultra Lounge: D*FRESH
