Dickson St. Oktoberfest schedule announced

The brisk fall Fayetteville air will soon be filled with the smells of bratwursts cooking on the grill, and the sweet, sweet scents of delicious beer. The second annual Dickson Street Oktoberfest, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 in the WAC parking lot, is only a few days away.

The schedule of events for this year’s festival has been released, and barrel races, petting zoos, camel rides, brat eating contests, and pig races are some of the things on the list.

More importantly, however, is the fact that according to event organizer Julie Sill, about 30 home-brewers are expected to participate in the festival in 2010.

“We’ve had a great response from the home brewers this year,” Sill told us.

To refresh your memory, Dickson St. Oktoberfest is free to attend, and $25 gets you an armband to taste as many of the home brews from local and regional home brewers participating in the festival as you want.
