Lights of the Ozarks parade and lighting ceremony set for Saturday

Know how I know the holiday season is about to start?

For one, department stores and restaurants are already starting to play Christmas music.

For two, the annual Lights of the Ozarks parade and lighting ceremony is set for Saturday, Nov. 20 on the Fayetteville square.

It all starts at 6 p.m. with the actual lighting of more than 450,000 lights, followed immediately by the parade, which will begin at the Fayetteville Public Library and head up Mountain Street to the square.

Reality TV stars the Duggars from TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting will be in attendance, and word on the street is that even old Santa Claus himself will be on hand wearing his Santa suit and his Santa beard.

There will be pony rides, carriage rides, and camel rides. All proceeds raised from the parade and vendor fees will benefit the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.

See you there?
