Holiday FYI: Expect a one-day delay for trash pickup

If your neighborhood’s trash pickup day is Thursday or Friday, don’t freak out when you notice your bin is still full the following morning.

Contrary to how it may appear at the moment, those Thanksgiving leftovers won’t be rotting for seven days before the city removes them from your driveway.

Your trash will indeed be picked up this week, just a day late.

The city’s Solid Waste and Recycling office and Compost Facility will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

From accessfayetteville.org:

The normal trash and recycling collections for both commercial and residential customers will be delayed one day with Thursday, November 25th routes being run on Friday, November 26th and the Friday, November 26th routes being run on Saturday, November 27th.
