Spay Arkansas to host renovation fundraiser for newly-leased clinic

Spay Arkansas took a huge step toward realizing their goal to create a low-cost spay and neuter clinic in Northwest Arkansas last week.

The organization announced that they have leased a space on Huntsville Rd. in Springdale, and hope to be able to provide free or low-cost spay and neutering to dogs and cats in Northwest Arkansas by early February of 2011. They’ve also enlisted the services of Susan Warren, VVM, who will serve as the clinic’s doctor.

Spay Arkansas Founder Marcia Donley said that they’re very exited to be close to opening the clinic, but that they still have fundraising to do to help cover renovation costs.

The organization is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 28 at Whole Earth Organic Lounge, with music from Emily Kaitz, Susan Shore & Michael Cochran, and Candy Lee, and a silent auction featuring holiday gift items, jewelry, cards and cookies.

They’ll also be accepting pet food donations for local rescues.
