Walton Arts Center to announce expansion plan updates

  • By Todd Gill · Tuesday, Nov 30, 2010

According to a news release issued this morning, Walton Arts Center officials will hold a press conference regarding the center’s expansion plans at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Prior to the press event, the WAC Facilities Committee will make a recommendation to the arts center’s Board of Directors based on the previously approved proposals and site selection criteria.

The board narrowed the list of potential sites for expansion from 25 to 15 in September. The final list of sites includes three locations in Fayetteville, one in Springdale, seven in Rogers and five in Bentonville.

Funding, political will, and the ability for the WAC to maintain regional performing arts leadership were some of the important factors listed by the board before it began the evaluation process of the final 15 proposals.
