Restaurant news: Chipotle, Buck Nekkid BBQ, Grub’s Uptown and more

This is a collection of recent Flyer staff photos featuring a handful of incoming, outgoing, and fate-unknown restaurants in Fayetteville:

Chipotle Mexican Grill

A window sign in the train depot building provides more evidence supporting the rumors of a Chipotle Mexican Grill on Dickson Street. Big Burrito Battle 2011?

Buck Nekkid BBQ

A banner for Buck Nekkid BBQ hints of a new tenant in the vacant Fire Mountain/Ryan’s/Spirit Halloween building next to Dixie Cafe.

Grub’s Uptown

It looks like Grub’s is opening a second location in Uptown Fayetteville in front of Target in the old Meaux Dad’s location.

HuHot Mongolian Grill

HuHot Mongolian Grill and Barbecue, which is set for a mid-January opening, now has a sign up at 637 E. Joyce Street.

Arby’s

A banner in front of a vacant Arby’s on College Avenue directs Beef ‘n Cheddar fans to Joyce Boulevard or MLK Boulevard.

Zauq Pakistani Indian Cuisine & Grill

A “For Rent” sign stands in front of an empty Zauq Pakistani Indian Cuisine & Grill on Archibald Yell Boulevard.

Northern Exposure

Northern Exposure, which was set to take over the old Smokey Bones location next to Olive Garden, might be on hold considering the owner was recently named in a trademark infringement lawsuit.

Sunrise Cafe

A “Closed For Remodel” sign is taped to the door at Sunrise Cafe on West Avenue. Fear not, late night breakfast fans. Word on the street is that Dickson Street will have a Waffle House by February.

Brick House Kitchen

A sign on the door of Brick House Kitchen reads, “Closed for the Winter Season.” A source tells us that the staff will replace those at BHK Kafe who were let go earlier this week.
