Lauren Embree to celebrate Whole Living feature Thursday

Remember back in October when we were all pumped because local designer Lauren Embree found out her jewelry would be featured in a national publication?

Well, it happened, and on Thursday, there’s a party.

Embree made the January/February issue of Martha Stewart’s Whole Living magazine and was also featured in the Winter 2011 issue of EcoLuxe magazine. In celebration a party is going down at her new jewelry showroom inside Matt Miller Studios on the downtown square.

Whole Living

The blurb about Embree in Whole Living was pretty awesome, except for the fact that the writer got the name of the city wrong.

From the article:

When Lauren Embree of Layfayette, Arkansas, was laid off from her corporate job and couldn’t find another, she decided to try her hand at designing jewelry with recycled vintage materials and natural gemstones…

Lauren, as you guys probably know, is from Fayetteville. There is a silver lining to the error, though.

“On the bright side, they’re going to print a correction, so I’ll be mentioned in the next issue too,” Lauren wrote on Facebook.

The party on Thursday night is also a grand opening celebration of Embree’s new showroom in Matt Miller Studios. It’s also First Thursday. That’s (at least) three parties in one.
