New Ward 4 Alderwoman Rhonda Adams is officially ready to cast some votes.

Adams was sworn in as the newest member of the Fayetteville City Council Tuesday afternoon by Fayetteville District Court Judge Rudy Moore.

Her ceremony took place inside City Hall room 326 during the council’s regular agenda session. The oath of office is usually taken one floor below inside the council chambers, but Adams was out of the country on Jan. 4 when the rest of the new members raised their right hands during the first meeting of 2011.

“Good luck to you,” Moore told Adams after the oath. “I’m glad to have you and I know the council’s glad to have you.”

Adams, who replaces Shirley Lucas, will represent Ward 4 alongside Sarah Lewis.
