News Release | Inclement Weather Schedule for Fayetteville’s Waste Collection

  • By Todd Gill · Friday, Feb 4, 2011

Unedited release from City of Fayetteville

Inclement Weather Schedule for Fayetteville’s Waste Collection

Fayetteville, AR – Due to dangerous conditions on roads and parking lots, the Solid Waste and Recycling Division has canceled all commercial and residential solid waste, recycling and yardwaste collections for Friday, February 4th, 2011.

Residential and commercial routes will resume when road conditions improve to allow safe collections to occur. We will evaluate road conditions Saturday, February 5th, to determine if we can run any routes on Saturday. We will post daily press releases with updates on our web site: www.accessfayetteville.org. If we can run Saturday, we will pickup trash for customers who normally have their pickup on Tuesday. Thus, residents with Tuesday pickup are encouraged to leave their trash carts out at the curb. All other residents should pull trash carts and recycling bins back to their home for pickup on their normal day next week.

Next week, there will be no extra bag charges applied, and customers do not need to use extra bag stickers.

No residential recycling will run this week, even if trash is picked up on Saturday. Recycling trucks are very light and unstable on any snowy or icy roads.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, February 4th. The Compost Facility will also be closed on Saturday, February 5th.

Due to the increased trash collection required, there will be no yard waste collection the week of February 7, 2011.

If you have any questions about your solid waste and recycling services please view information posted on the City’s website at www.accessfayetteville.org.
