Weekend To-do: Feb. 18-20

It’s going to be another gorgeous weekend in Fayetteville, with temperatures in the 60s forecasted for the next three days.

With all this warm weather we’ve been experiencing, it feels like it should be time for the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on the square, but we’ve still got a little more than a month to occupy our Saturday mornings with other things. The market opens on April 2.

There’s plenty to do this weekend, however. Happy weekend, everyone.

Friday

How about some Razorback baseball? The Diamond Hogs are kicking off the 2011 season with a three-game series against the Hornets of Delaware State Friday at 3:05 p.m. at

Both Brantley Gilbert shows scheduled for George’s this weekend are sold out, but if you don’t have tickets, you can get your Majestic Lounge fix with RJ Mischo for happy hour at 6 p.m.

Do you like laughing? The Expendables of Comedy, featuring comedians Marcus Lane, Anthony Waits, Brian Spence, Brett Robinson and Cody Wilber are at the NWA Showcase Theatre Friday night. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Just when I start thinking, “Wonder what the Flipoff Pirates are up to?” they pop up on the calendar again. They’ll be at Smoke & Barrel Friday night playing some funky jams.

Starved for Attention and Rocket Coma are at Rogue Friday night. Starved For Attention played on the news Wednesday night, and Rocket Coma is a new project from some of the QLand folks, just so you know.

Saturday

If you’ve ever dreamed of a bill with local bands Niall, Real Live Tigers, Memphis Pencils, and Messy Sparkles together on the same night at the same club, your dream is coming true on Saturday at Smoke & Barrel.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will be at the Walton Arts Center on Saturday night playing some of legendary jazz performer Cab Calloway’s songs from their recent tribute album. There are still tickets available, too.

Amsterdam, Everyday Disciple and Motortrain are at Rogue, and Scott Parker and Glory Bones are at Maxine’s.

Sunday

Remember the Community Seed Swap we told you guys about? Well, it’s happening from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fayetteville Senior Activity and Wellness Center.

3 Penny Acre will be playing a concert Sunday night to celebrate their three-week run with TheatreSquared’s Sundown Town at Nadine Baum Studios. Word on the street is that T2 is working on extending Sundown Town for one more week, however. We’ll keep you posted.

NWA Roller Derby is back on Sunday night with all four home teams battling it out for the local championship at the Starlight Skatium. Their first bout last month was a sellout, FYI.

Tyrannosaurus Chicken is at George’s for Monster Mug Night, and The Lightbulb Club has a new resident Sunday night disc jockey, DJ Clunk.

There’s more below, and as always, feel free to add to the list in the comments. Yeow.
