Razorback baseball season is underway, and it appears that Diamond Hog fans have a new pre/post game option near Baum Stadium.
According to general manager Jason Benish, Salty Dog Bar & Restaurant opened just over two weeks ago at 1614 West 15th Street in the old Pig & Whistle BBQ location.
The new bar and restaurant specializes in pizza, burgers, and hot dogs, and will serve food seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m.
Owner William Dodd told us that the bar plans to have live music on the weekends, and that he is currently seeking local musicians of all types to build a calendar.
“We’ll do an acoustic night on Wednesday nights,” he said. “We’re booking all kinds of music. Country, rock, hip-hop, top-40. We’re open to anything.”
The Fayetteville store makes the second Salty Dog restaurant for the new franchise. The first location is in Memphis, and Dodd said he is considering expanding into Little Rock.
