Monday To-do: Feb. 28

  • By Todd Gill · Monday, Feb 28, 2011

In anticipation of the Dalai Lama’s appearance at the University of Arkansas in May, a film and book discussion series continues tonight and tomorrow.

The series is organized around four films and three books and is designed to provide a general understanding of the life and work of the Dalai Lama.

The third film in the series, “The Sun Behind the Clouds,” is up for discussion tonight at 7 p.m. in the Fayetteville Public Library. The event will be repeated tomorrow night in the Union Theatre on the UA campus.

Also on today’s calendar, there’s a women’s bike maintenance workshop at Bike City at 1 p.m., and a handful of live music options.

Here’s hoping for an earthquake-free evening.

The list

Bike City Recyclery: Women’s Bike Maintenance Workshop
JJ’s Grill n Chill: Stevie Tombstone
Fayetteville Public Library: The Dalai Lama Film and Book Series
Pesto Cafe: Darren Ray
Mojo’s Pints & Pies: Teddy Sablon

Public meetings

City Hall: Planning Commission * – 5:30 p.m.
City Hall: Ward 4 Meeting * – 7:00 p.m.

* Meetings scheduled to be televised by the Fayetteville Government Channel are indicated with an asterisk
