Twenty-eight artists to exhibit work at Uncle Gaylord’s during First Thursday

Video by Mike Anderson, one of 28 artists exhibiting work during an art event at Uncle Gaylord’s April 7.

If it keeps growing like it has over the past year or so, First Thursday Fayetteville on the downtown square will soon be city-wide.

What started as a monthly art opening event at ddp gallery and Fayetteville Underground, has now spread into the streets on the square, across the Town Center plaza to Matt Miller Studios, and even down Block Avenue.

Beginning next month, First Thursday activities will extend even further to Uncle Gaylord’s Mountain Cafe.

Local artist Zack Wait has assembled three bands, a DJ, and almost thirty local artists representing just about any medium you can think of for the first-ever Worst Thursday art show on April 7.

Wait said the show will begin at around 5 p.m., and will run late into the evening. If all goes well, he hopes to make it a semi-regular event.

Local jazz band Nathan McCloud Group will kick off the event, followed by a performance of Brian Abel’s simultaneous tape project, Messy Sparkles, and Acid of the East. The evening will culminate with a dance party led by DJ XiumapeldaveQ.

Here’s the (unbelievable) list of artists that will be participating in the show. Whoa.
