Mike Anderson formal announcement set for Saturday at Bud Walton Arena

Since Mike Anderson was officially announced as the new head coach of the Arkansas basketball team on Wednesday, Hog fans around the state seem to be as energized about the program as they’ve been since the 1994 National Championship season.

In other words, yeah, we’re pretty pumped.

On Saturday, those fans will be able to express a little bit of that energy and excitement at a formal announcement of Anderson’s hiring set for 10:30 a.m. on the floor of Bud Walton Arena.

We expect a good turnout (probably including several former Razorback players), an electric atmosphere, about 1,000 Hog calls, and possibly one or two tears of joy.

Here’s a Facebook event that we created, just in case you want to invite every single person that you know to come out and welcome Anderson back to Arkansas on Saturday.

The event is free to attend, and open to the public. If you plan on showing up, us the south entrance of Bud Walton Arena. Doors open at 10 a.m.

The UA also just announced that Anderson will be at the Razorback baseball game on Saturday to throw out the first pitch. The Hogs take on Vanderbilt, and the game starts at 2:05 p.m.
