The Crown Pub will be moving from it’s current location at 303 W. Dickson Street soon.

Owners of the Crown Pub say they were unable to renew the leasing agreement at the Dickson Street watering hole’s current location, and as a result, the bar will soon be moving.

Crown Pub management posted a note on their Facebook page last month indicating that they will be closing May 1.

Wade Ogle, one of the owners of the establishment said that he and business partner Benton Bandy are currently looking for a new location.

“We’re actually looking at a couple options today and tomorrow,” Ogle said. “We definitely plan to find a location on Dickson Street.”

Ogle said that he had been in talks with landlord Richard Alexander for several months, but that those negotiations did not lead to a new leasing agreement.

“We’re not happy about it, but it’s life,” he said. “I just want to assure our customers that we will be back as soon as we can, and that we’re going to carry over the things they like about the Crown Pub in our new location.”

The Crown Pub has gone through a few changes over the last year. It was initially a beer-only bar, but began serving mixed drinks back in February of this year. The owners also voluntarily made the decision to go non-smoking in November.
