NWA Take Back the Night march set for April 15

As the final event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month at the University of Arkansas, the ninth annual Northwest Arkansas Take Back the Night march is set for Friday, April 15.

The march will begin at around 7 p.m. at Arvest Plaza on the north side of the Fayetteville square where Mayor Lioneld Jordan is scheduled to read a proclamation.

Those participating will march to the University of Arkansas campus via East Avenue, Dickson Street, and up through the lawn of Old Main to the re-gathering place in the Central Quad between the Arkansas Union and Mullins Library.

Participants are encouraged to make and carry banners/signs displaying messages that advocate for change and the need for an end to violence against women.

At the re-gathering, a candlelight vigil will be held in remembrance of and honoring the survivors of sexual and relationship violence.
