The 29th annual event is set for April 30 this year in downtown Fayetteville.

The festival will kick off at around 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast in front of Jose’s. After that, a day filled with live music, food, art, crafts, activities for kids, and more will follow.

The annual bed races, where teams of participants put together their own racing beds and wheel them up Dickson Street, will take place at around 1 p.m.

Organizers plan to name the main stage of the event The Bruce Walker Memorial Stage, in honor of the long-time Dickson Street business owner and festival supporter who passed away in March. Walker’s family will also be back in town to hold a final sale of Flying Possum Leather merchandise.

Also new this year, The Step 1 Theatre will present The 2″ Play Festival, where short productions from 12 to 30 lines to be performed during Springfest.
