Update: The Hogs/Ole Miss game on May 20 won the fan vote, and will be televised by CSS.

The Razorback baseball team began the season with 17 regional and national television appearances on the schedule in 2011. The Diamond Hogs could add one more to that list pending the results of an online fan voting competition that is currently underway.

CSS Sports is hosting the SEC Fan’s Choice Poll to decide which of five SEC games to televise on Friday, May 20.

The contest opened on April 22, and as of this afternoon, the Hogs/Ole Miss matchup was in second place with 14,570 votes. The South Carolina/Alabama game was in the lead in the competition, with 18,714 votes.

The five games in the running to be televised by CSS on May 20 are:

  • Ole Miss at Arkansas
  • Auburn at Tennessee
  • South Carolina at Alabama
  • Vanderbilt at Georgia
  • LSU at Mississippi State

Voting closes at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 9, and the winning matchup will be announced live on SportsNite at 5 p.m. the same day.

The Arkansas/Ole Miss series is the final series of the 2011 season for the Hogs, and could prove to be pivotal in the SEC West Race. The Diamond Hogs are currently tied with Alabama for first place in the SEC West with only nine conference games left in the season.
