Special closing reception planned for Garden As Muse exhibit

The Walton Arts Center will host a special drop-in reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, to mark the closing of Garden as Muse, a nature-themed visual art exhibit.

The exhibit, which officially closes June 4, has been on display in the art center’s Joy Pratt Markham Gallery for the past five weeks as part of the annual Artosphere Festival.

Wine and cheese refreshments will be served, and free exhibition guides will be available.

Curated by Andrea Packard, director of the List Gallery at Pennsylvania’s Swarthmore College, Garden as Muse features works by internationally acclaimed artists Sally Apfelbaum, Markus Baenziger, Syd Carpenter, Lois Dodd and Sarah McEneaney.

Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, however these hours will be extended to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.
