There will be smoke.
That’s right, after hours and hours of public debate, a proposed expansion of the city’s smoking ban failed to receive enough votes to pass through City Council last night.
Our eyes are sore, our brains hurt, and thanks to those pews inside City Hall, our tailbones are killing us this morning.
Now to decide where to go tonight. A smoky bar or a smoke-free bar?
If it’s smoky you’re after, the second round of the JR’s Lightbulb Club Drunken Spelling Bee might be right up your alley. Weekly winners get bar tab credit and the grand champ will take home $250 later this summer. The spelling starts at around 9 p.m.
No smoke for you? No problem. There are still plenty of options.
