Local foods dinner ‘Find it Fresh in Fayetteville’ set for June 21

The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Agriculture and Urban Development Committee will host a slow-food dinner, “Find it Fresh in Fayetteville,” on Tuesday, June 21 at Ozarks Electric Cooperative.

The four-course meal is being prepared by local chefs Case Digherio (Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art) and Jenn Mattson (Lean Green Cuisine) using all fresh and locally grown foods.

Tickets to the dinner are $40, and are available for purchase at fayettevillear.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit students in the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture Studies at the University of Arkansas.

Here’s the full menu planned for Tuesday.

First course American Baguette, with a sequence of Bruschetta to include: Peach, Prosciutto, and Fresh Ricotta, Sweet Peas, MInt and Pecorina/Walnut and Lentil Pate

Second course: Fried Green Tomato Caprese with Farmer’s Market Greens

Third course: Pan Seared Ozark Pasture Beef Rib-eye with Malbec Reduction over Local Squash, Sweden Creek Shitake Mushrooms, and PIne Nut Torta

Fourth Course: Lavender Panna Cotta with Fresh Berry Preserves
