Websighting: Huey Lewis and The News, Sept. 9 on Dickson Street

Y’all aren’t gonna believe this, but here goes. Huey Lewis has seven different keychain designs for sale on his website.

Also, it looks like Huey Lewis and The News are coming to Fayetteville.

According to his website (good find, Kevin Kinder), Mr. Lewis will be in Fayetteville for a free show on Dickson Street on Friday, Sept. 9.

That happens to be the same weekend that the annual Walmart NW Arkansas Championship LPGA golf tournament will be happening at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers. The event has been bringing a free concert to the downtown area for the last couple years now. Last year, they brought Smashmouth to town. Remember?

Anyway, if you are old enough to remember the 80’s, there’s no way you don’t know who Huey Lewis & The News are. They had 19 top ten singles in the 80s and early 90s including Workin’ for a Livin’, Hip To Be Square, Heart of Rock & Roll, I Want a New Drug, Power of Love, and lots more.

Huey Lewis even made a cameo appearance in Back to The Future.

The show hasn’t been officially announced by the folks from the NW Arkansas Championship yet, but if you’re interested in a free Huey Lewis and The News show, it’s probably safe to block off some space for the evening of Sept. 9 on your calendar.
