Have you ever been to the Firefly Fling (formerly the Firefly Festival) at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks?

We ask that question for two reasons. Reason one, it’s coming up on Saturday, July 16. Reason two, it’s awesome. You should go.

The family-oriented festival features performances by Shaky Bugs, an interactive percussion performance by Bongo Willie, a puppet show by Trike Theatre, and fire dancing by Kindling Spirits, and activity stations for making fairy houses, bread on a stick, and other items.

The event also (typically) features a lot of the happiest-looking kids you’ve ever seen running around with wings on their backs, dancing, and waving magic wands and glow sticks around in the warm mid-summer air. It’s kind of like a kid-rave.

Tickets are $8 for individuals, $24 for families of four, and $40 for groups of six. More information about the event is available on Facebook.
