City Council Primer: July 19, 2011

A meeting of the Fayetteville City Council is set for 6 p.m. July 19 in room 219 of the City Administration Building located at 113 West Mountain Street in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

There are 10 consent items including a resolution to express the council’s agreement that the city should create an art show within the city park system and/or along city trails to generate funds for purchasing sculptures or other art for the city trails.

There are two unfinished business items including an ordinance rezoning property located south of Zion Road and east of Taliesin Lane from R-PZD to NC (Neighborhood Conservation). This item was tabled at the last meeting to evaluate the possibility of a rezoning to Neighborhood Services, instead of Neighborhood Conservation.

Also in unfinished business, is an ordinance rezoning 2.64 acres located at 209 West MLK Blvd. from RMF-24 (Residential Multi-Family 24 units per acre) to C-1 (Neighborhood Commercial). A Kum & Go gas station and convenience store is being proposed at the intersection of Hill Avenue. This was left on the second reading at the last meeting.

Finally, there are six new business items including an ordinance rezoning 12 acres of property located at 510 West 11th Street and 989 South School Avenue (The Sale Barn) from RMF-24 (Residential Multi-Family, 24 units/acre), I-1 (Heavy Commercial/Light Industrial) and DG (Downtown General) to CS (Community Services).
