Tomato Tasting coming to Botanical Gardens July 24

Remember the tomato tasting held at East Square Plaza during the Farmers’ Market last year?

Well, that same tomato tasting is happening again in 2011, this time at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks on Sunday, July 24.

The event is hosted by Ozark Slow Food and will include over 60 varieties of vine ripened, locally grown tomatoes for sampling. Live music is provided by Guy Ames, and admission to the event is $5 for adults, or $2.50 for children 10 and under.

The tomato tasting will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and the weekly Sunday Farmers’ Market at the Botanical Garden will open at 9 a.m.

A bit more information is available via a Facebook event created by Ozark Slow Food.

Eat some tomatoes (if you want).
