Washington County Sherriff’s Office iPhone app available for download

Anyone who routinely checks the county detention center intake report can now feed their addiction in a new way.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office this week released a new app which includes everything you need to stay completely up to date on our local jailbirds.

The WCSO app is available for any iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone running iOS 4.0 or greater, and features a wide range of detention center information including names, photos and charges for the entire roster of current inmates, and everyone booked in the last three days.

According to a press release issued Wednesday, the app was provided free of charge to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office by Mobile Patrol, LLC., a subsidiary of Revolution Technologies, LLC of Rogers. Revolution has developed other iPhone apps like iHog, the official iPhone app of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks.

Other features include lists of local attorneys, bail bonds companies, warrants, most wanted criminals and even a section called “Deadbeat Moms & Dads” with names and photos of parents who have failed to pay child support.

Push notifications are also supported. “I believe the most significant and beneficial feature of the new app is the “push notification” capability,” said Washington County Sheriff Tim Helder. “This application will be a great asset for the sheriff’s office because it will give us the ability to notify the community of important news ranging from criminal events, missing person notifications, to emergency weather warnings.”

To download the free app, search the App Store for “WCSO” or “Washington County Sheriff.”
