Fayetteville Underground to host book binding workshop July 22-23

Chances are good that you have no idea whatsoever how to do a buttonhole book binding.

That’s OK, though. There happens to be a class on it coming up this weekend.

Lesha Shaver of Little Mountain Bindery will lead a workshop entitled “Unbelievable Buttonhole Binding” from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 22 and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at the Fayetteville Underground, located at 1 East Center Street on the Fayetteville square.

Here’s the class description:

This is the uniquely beautiful Buttonhole binding, a hard-cover, exposed spine sewing which allows for lots of self expression. Each student will add his/her own interpretation to this lovely binding so that no two will look alike. Like the Secret Belgian and the Coptic book, this book opens completely flat. No previous experience necessary.

Cost of the workshop is $75, and includes materials. For more, visit littlemountainbindery.com.
