Learn how to be a volunteer Fayetteville Trail Trekker Tuesday, July 26

Ever wanted to be a Trail Trekker? Now’s your chance.

Parks & Rec officals will host a meeting for anyone interested in volunteering for the Trail Trekkers program at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 inside room 111 of Fayetteville City Hall.

Trail Trekkers is a volunteer-based program made up of dedicated community members who wish to ensure that park and trail patrons are assisted and protected. Trail Trekkers are encouraged to supply directions, maps and information to trail users, assist with first aid needs and bicycle repair, and to report any maintenance that is needed on the city’s trail system.

It’s a pretty easy-going setup. Trail Trekkers determine their own volunteer times and locations, and do not have to formally commit to any predetermined schedules.

If you use the trail a lot (or even a little) and would like to help out, consider attending this meeting to see if Trail Trekkers is for you.

For a brief overview of the Trail Trekkers program, there’s a YouTube video for that (embedded below).
